The Chocolate Hills as backdrop, photography by my husband |
For those who enjoy my travel blog and photos, I am glad to be back and writing again about places. I am stirred to write this story because of so many beautiful things to say, places to describe, and recapturing gone by moments. This blog is about Bohol's natural beauty.

Actually, this vacation is very memorable to me because going to Bohol was my first flight. My next flight afterwards was that international flight going to The Netherlands. Everything was arranged by my husband.
Bohol is a province in my country, Philippines. It is in the Central Visayas Region. People in Bohol called Boholano. Bohol is famous because of its coral reefs, scuba diving, and diverse wildlife.

after the rain, Chocolate Hills |
From Manila, we took a flight to Tagbilaran City. When we arrived in Tagbilaran City, we took a van going to Carmen, the home of the famous Chocolate Hills. When we arrived in Chocolate Hills, it was raining and there was a rainbow in the sky. For me it was so beautiful! Me and my husband standing there facing those brown hills, almost sunset, a chilly evening is approaching.

Tarsier in Loboc |
We stayed in Chocolate Hills for three days, then we headed to Loboc. When we were in Loboc, we stayed again there for another three days. We stayed at Nuts Hut. Nuts Hut is a jungle resort located at the bank of Loboc River. It was a fantastic place for me. During our stay there, we explore the town. We saw the man-made forest, the world's smallest primates Tarsier, and we have lunch at the floating restaurant. This floating restaurant is also a river cruise, had serenade, and buffet lunch.

floating restaurants, yes they are many |
I too enjoyed our stayed in Nuts Hut. My husband went with a group to cave hiking. I remained in our cabin reading. Nuts Hut has a restaurant where we love to sit in the hammock reading or watching the beautiful forest trees. Sometimes, we stayed there to meet other guests or eating an ice cream cone. The restaurant serves western-Asian style dishes. On our first night, I did love their squash soup.

making memories at Panglao |

At Panglao Regent Park, my husband currently playing Farmville :) |
After Loboc and Nuts Hut we moved further, but closer again to Tagbilaran. We spent our final week in Panglao Island. We did not make a reservation and all hotels were full, we ended up to stay in the Panglao Regent Park. The Panglao Regent Park is approximately 15 minutes walk to the beach. But it has a large and very clean swimming pool. When the staff leads us inside the hotel, my husband exclaimed: "uh, this is luxury!"

me in Panglao |
Panglao Islands have white sand beach, a destination for scuba divers. There are bars too, that offers a night life. There was a time that we need to wake up 4 o'clock in the morning to watch the Dolphins and go to island hopping.

Those holiday experiences were something new to me. I have never known such luxury in travel and vacation. There was a time that I feel really shy that I just stayed in the room and eat instant noodles for dinner. In time, I began to adjust to my husband's lifestyle. |
Writing this blog, brought a lot of happy memories and remembering Bohol. If you are planning to visit Bohol, you will never regret it, it is worth the trip. Of all the things that I see and tasted, I would say that Bohol is a haven of natural beauty.
Oh my gosh, what a great post! I haven't visited the Philippines in a very long time. Last time I went I was a young child. And reading this post and seeing all the wonderful pictures you shared, makes me want to plan a family trip out there :) My hubby is very eager to visit there. One day, when baby is a little older. Keep writing and posting - I am very excited to read more of your wonderful adventures. Take care, Maggy! Big Hugs!!!
