Beauty Inside-Out

Even an expensive make up cannot cover an ugly personality. -Maggy
It is a famous saying: beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
 I agree with that, but keeping ourselves clean and in a proper hygiene is a must. There are celebrities who are giving much influence to the people when it comes to beauty products and beauty tips. What they call as "beauty secret" is no longer a secret! Hahaha!

I am a full time housewife and a devoted mother to my son. Sometimes, it is easy to set aside myself, and most of the times, I don't even mind how I look like or I appear like a total mess. When I am just at home, I am so laid back. Sometimes, it is already noon time, but I am still wearing my pajama! Hahaha
While my husband, when he is at home, as soon as he woke up, he shaves right away and shower.

On this blog, I want to share a few of the beauty products that I am using. To be honest, since I arrived here in The Netherlands, I do not buy much of beauty products, there are friends who are regular in giving me beauty products as gifts that I am very grateful for. I truly feel that the best things in life are free. Hahaha!
body foam and body cream that I am using, they are gifts when we visited the Kasteel De Haar.

 A gift that my friend gave to me yesterday when she visited me.

Rituals; gifts from our bank. I love it!

I have a long and very straight long hair. I have hair coloring only once, that is this year. I don't wash my hair everyday. I washed my hair only twice a week, Tuesday and Saturday respectively, but I shower every day. My husband bought a hair dryer/blower for me. In The Philippines, my hair tastes hair dryer or blower only when I go to the hair salon. I don't use conditioner, just a normal shampoo, but I have a Pantene Conditioner that we bought in The Philippines last year.
my favorite eyeshadow

Victoria Secret perfume, also a gift from one of my friends in The Philippines.

I do not use foundation, I use only Johnson's Baby Powder for my face before I put on my favorite eyeshadow. I love wearing red lipstick. It is like, I feel incomplete without a lipstick on my lips. I have a kind of allergy, no, not with foods! Hahaha! On scent or perfume, that when I use perfume, I got a headache the entire day. But not with Victoria Secret. I love Love Spell and Sweet Temptation. The scent of Love Spell brings nostalgia, it brings back my Citibank days.

Even I wear make up sometimes, I feel I still preserve the simplicity on me. I believe that I also have a sophistication, the way I carry myself and the way I treat people regardless of who they are or regardless of how they treat me. Because having a beautiful heart is a true beauty.

What Is In Your Bag? List Of 15 Items That I Always Carry In My Bag

My blog and my bag... are extensions of my personality. -Maggy
Have you ever wondered, what is in your friend's bag? I'm sure you do. For all men, it's a mystery why does women carry huge and heavy handbags, when we only need a wallet, keys and our cell phone. This is true because I notice, especially working girls that they are carrying heavy purses, sometimes they are carrying two bags even they will only go to the office. Why do we, women carry around our purses all the time? I remember, one time my husband asked: "why you have so many bags, mahal?" Hahaha! I was laughing and replied this; "because I am a woman, mahal." Yes, bags are part of woman's day to day life.

We wear or we bring them every single time we go out of the house: to shopping, to work, even when we're going for a hike, every single time we go out. I think about my bag as an extension of me. Why? Because my bag is always there when I need it, it keeps the most important things I need throughout the day and it's also a pretty accessory. Most of the times, when I was still single, my bag sleeps with me. We also love our bags because they complete our outfits. I done a quick reading and list some essential things for us as women that we can put in our bag. Light and small items only that can fit in a not so big bag though I love big purses. Here they are. You can comment if you want to add something that I've missed.

* wallet/card/money
* keys
* mobile phone
* a compact mirror
* cosmetic bag (Pinays have kikay kit)
* hand sanitizer
* tissues
* gum
* hair items (hair brush, hairband, pins)
*  paracetamol
* pen and notebook. I always have reading materials too in my bag like our Bible tracks and our Watchtower and Awake Magazine.
* a bottle of water
* snacks for my son.
* compact camera because my iPhone always no space hahaha
* last but not the least, now that I am a mother, I always have wipes, diapers, and extra clothes for my son.

Bag or shoes? Me? Bag! I love bags! How about you?

My First Paid Manicure In The Netherlands

I love girl thing :)
How is your weekend so far? I hope you are having a nice weekend, anywhere you are in the world. After eating a light lunch, I went out to make some photos of the old harbor in our town. After the old harbor, I went into the city, and made photos of the market. I was done and about to go home already when I saw a manicure-pedicure saloon. It looks so tempting to me this time. Hahaha! I had my last paid pedicure last year in the Philippines.

Manicure and pedicure in the Philippines are very affordable. Last year, my manicure, pedicure with foot spa cost only 220.00 pesos. I have no idea how much the manicure and pedicure here in The Netherlands, but I know it is a bit expensive. Most of the beauty salon here has no manicure and pedicure services. Manicure and pedicure are a separate salon. There are also home services for a pedicure with foot spa.

So I have my first paid manicure in The Netherlands this afternoon. Paid manicure because I polish my nails myself. I went into the saloon, I was fascinated by everything I saw inside. Many nail polish of variety of colors. There are also fake nails that are ready to be fixed in your fingers. I am not yet ready for fake! Hahahah! I still prefer the classic nail polish, my favorite: red. Hot red.
the electric nail grinder.
The manicure here is something new to me. In the Philippines, the manicurist uses what they call "pusher" to clean cuticle. Here, the Vietnamese manicurist used something like an electric grinder to clean my nails. I have a photo of that. After the grinding, cleaning my ingrown. After the ingrown, the manicurist polishes my nails with the colorless base. After the colorless base, my selected nail polish color, red. I am grinning, I love the color, I love the feeling!
This girl thing! The last is the colorless coating, then the manicurist opens the small electric fan, like a toy fan on my front to dry fast my nails.
hot red and proud :)

After about 10 minutes, the manicurist checked my nails if they are dry already. They are dry now, I can go home. The manicure cost 15 euro, they don't accept cards, only cash. I told them that I don't have cash so I went to the nearest ATM to get some money. I paid them with a wide grin. In my mind, I love to go back there. But... Next time, I like to try the fake nails! Hahaha, I like a not very long fake nails, red, and square! My paying husband agreed! Please stay tuned!
