My Little Paradise

To enjoy life, we must learn to appreciate small things that bring delight in our heart. Most of these enjoyments are free but bring pure and lasting joy.
This afternoon, I had felt it when an elderly friend of mine visited me and my son. She bought a piece of delicious raisin bread for my son and I opened our back door to our garden.
It has been an enjoyable time with her, just sitting in the sunshine, with a cup of delicious Arabica coffee that I made for us.
I picked tomatoes and she picked grapes from our garden that she took home. We both made photos, simultaneously, with all our heart's delight. I am writing this now and I feel how blessed I am for enjoying a beautiful Sunday in my own way, in my little paradise, even I am missing my husband that so far away until now.

This Year's Summer In Our Home Garden

Summertime is always a special season in the Netherlands. People are flocking to the garden center to buy plants and other garden needs. The gloomy and cold months are for the meantime is over, and everyone are happy again to spend time outdoor. That is why, we too, making our home garden looks very summer, colorful, vibrant. This morning, I was able to make some flower photos in our garden. I especially dedicate these photos to the supporters of my page, they are also a flower lover.

Playing Macro Today!

one of my favorites
Macro-photography is photography, producing photographs of small items larger than life size. Now, this is one of my hobbies and it is getting addictive hahaha! Since I have a toddler, I do not have much time to go out to places to make photos. Our garden is I would day, over used now of my making photos. Macro photography like I came face to face, eye to eye with my subject.

How I do macro photography? I have a digital Canon 1200 camera that my husband gave me. My husband has also his Canon 400D camera, bigger than mine, and he had many lenses. He taught me of macro photography, how to change lenses. At first, my photos were all blurred hahahah!

After a couple times of try out, I got clearer and beautiful macro photos. I learned the technique. How to steady my hands. There were times that very windy and the subject was swaying, swinging! But I enjoy the challenge! I look closer the object, I visualize which angle it will look better. I am satisfied with the outcome.

I am also glad when the photos I made are good as is, no need for editing. I like viewing beautiful photos, but honestly, I don't like photos with a lot of retouch, it does not look real or realistic.

Today, I made some nice macro photos just here in our garden. Since it is only my husband who see my photos, I use my blog to show to the world my photography. Before, my hobbies are cross-stictching, reading, and even the Candy Crush have my free time. Now, macro photography is my most loved hobby. I take time to read photography books, I am a Photoshop self-learner. Perhaps in time, photography can also be my bread and butter.

Let Me Take You To Our Garden!

I usually frame my thoughts in the garden.
When I was a small girl, I remember I was planting plants in empty cans of milk. We lived in a small house, without a garden, in a crowded area. It was always my dream to have a garden where I can plant flowering plants and Bermuda grass.

my husband built the sandbox for our son.

That dream materialized when I got married because my husband owned a house with a big garden and a fish pond. I wrote about places that I have gone to. This time, I want to write and to show you around our home garden.

keeping our garden secured! Hahahaha!

our son is also a nature lover.
When I first arrived in The Netherlands, our home garden was very masculine! Hahaha! I told my husband that I like some grasses in the garden so our son can play there. My husband moved the cactus he planted in the middle to give room to the grasses. During summer, we love to lay down there.
when I am totally alone, my God and nature are my constant close companion.

Because life in The Netherlands for most of the time is spent indoors, particularly during cold season, it is like a month of partying and celebration during summer season.
We have a barbecue grill in the garden. My husband built a sandbox for our son. We have a fish pond for Koi. My husband has I think more than eight Koi in our pond.
I love its sight.

in the garden, I am aware what is new and what is former.

for me, they are beauties, not mess.
In the Netherlands most of the residents have a small garden. It surprises most of our visitors to see that we have a big garden. Now that I am living in this house, the former masculine garden became feminine! Hahaha! We have many flowers, I decorated our dirty kitchen, and there is always laundry hanging on the clothesline during summer. I really love my clothesline. Clothesline brings me back to my old life, my simple life with my parents in the Philippines.

When my son is at school, I spend my time in the garden. I usually frame my thoughts in the garden. It is a lovely thought for me: when my husband is at work and my son is in school, my constant companion is my God... And nature. If ever you are near, I can invite you to have a coffee with me or with me and my husband, right in our beautiful garden.
