What Makes Me Happy

It is those simple things that make life truly happy.

A happy me
Those little things that make me happy
Simplicity, sincerity, hearty
The sunset, the sunrise, the rain, the stars
The flowers, the trees, the evergreen grass
The river, the bridge, the horizon beneath
The see, the sand, the waves, the surf
A freshly baked cake, the bread in the toaster
The old clothes in the cabinet, the nostalgia they bring
The faded photographs in the shoe box, the rhythm of the old clock
The soily fingers after gardening, the smeared apron after cooking
The sight of a dear friend, the caring thoughts of a stranger
My family, my solitary times, the free will to decide
My openness in praying, and most of all my answered prayers.

The Power Of Your Smile

The smile that always makes me smile.
The smile is like a ray of sunshine
A cold day turns warm
With the power of a sincere smile.
When everything seems not right,
Just smile.
A smile of a newborn infant
Is heavenly
The smile of the one you love
Is a light in your soul.
An unexpected smile from a stranger
Gives us some hope
Not all people get their heart cold.
Smile to relieve someone's pain.
Smile to build a lifelong friendship.
Smile to feel good inside.
Smile to feel whatever it is,
You can carry on.

My father enjoys spending his day, almost everyday watching my son in his portable bathtub.

They say that money cannot buy happiness. I would agree with that, but, money is also essential for a good life, particularly when we have a family. But in the Philippines, you can see people, a father or a mother who are doing their utmost to provide a decent life with their family. In western countries where life is more comfortable and people used of luxury, truly admire these family heads who give their sweat and blood to earn for a living.
I have some photos that I love to share to show that the meaning of happiness depends on how one view of life, a life that we hold but we cannot control. I also have some photos that exhibit the simple joys of the life in the Philippines. Simple joys that for me are priceless. They're not big things, but they each simple pleasure can translate to a great day if you use them right.

Appreciation, A Basic Human Need

Appreciation: understanding of the nature or meaning or quality or magnitude of something; a favorable judgment; an expression of gratitude; an increase in price or value; delicate discrimination (especially of esthetic values). Like food, shelter, and clothing, to be appreciated, especially by the ones we love is one of the long-time human needs. To love, and be loved, and to be appreciated.

Antonyms of appreciation:
* be critical,

criticize,

decrease

* depreciate

, disparage

, disregard

* lose value

neglect

overlook

* alue

, neglect

, overlook

I have collected twelve best quotes about appreciation. Let this cold-hearted world and its arrogance will not makes us unappreciative to those people who deserve it.

Happiness is.... My 15 Happiness!

Note to self: I am responsible for my own happiness.
They say that don't chase happiness, instead create it. For some people, happiness is something tangible such as a big house, a successful career, or a big bank account. For quiet few people, happiness is something intangible like a happy marriage or family life, or a contentment in life. Happiness comes depends on what you really appreciate in your life. Sometimes, the happiness you feel is like a tight squeeze in your heart, you simply feel how warming it it, how reassuring that everything is okay no matter what you are coping right now.
I have written 15 happiness while I was folding laundry this morning. I want to share it with you and hoping that you also feel genuine happiness even on trivial things in life.

1.  You know what you want and you are in the position to get what you want.
2. Knowing you are beautiful, but having the secured feeling that inside, you are more beautiful.
3. Having a crazy selfie with your husband.
4. Seeing "former" friends bitter because they are not expecting that you are going to have a good life.
5. Shopping second hand books.
6.  Watching the full moon in the quiet night, in the big window of your bedroom.
7. A soothing foot massage of your husband.
8. Eating popcorn in a lazy morning with your toddler.
9. You are engrossed in a film on the tv and your husband suddenly approached with your cup of coffee.
10. Cooking a meal with all your heart for family or friends.
11. Sniffing the dirty shirt of your husband.
12. Brushing teeth together before going to bed.
13. You feel comfortable about being alone.
14. The feeling that God really exist and that he truly cares.
15. Last but not the least, finding out that you are prettier than the wife of your ex! Hahaha!

folding and writing.

happiness is... multitasking!

Have a nice day everyone! I am going to be busy to prepare for our long weekend in Hoenderloo. Till then!

Seven Things That Can Make You (Or Me) Happy

Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket. I know this quote with all my heart. This quote reminds us that our happiness is in our control. It is easy to get miserable when our expectation of the people whom we expect will bring us happiness do not materialize. I have my listings of the seven things that can make you or even me happy. If you have some additional, you can write it down in your note as a note to self.

my complete happiness

1. Don't forget to appreciate yourself. Self worth is vital to our happiness. To feel good with others, we must feel good first about ourselves. Write down the things you love about yourself, be it tangible like your eyes or intangible like your kind soul. Tell yourself that it is okay not to be perfect.

love yourself
2. Take time to do the things you love (hobby). Hobbies are an effective stress-reliever. You will feel happy and recharged after doing something you really love. If you don't have a hobby, you can start doing one soon. It can be playing a musical instrument, knitting, or photography. Whatever you feel you enjoy doing in your free time.
Take time to read a book
3. Take time to read a good book, not only e-book. There is something in a book that e-book can never replace. Find a book that fascinates you and you feel you will able to finish. Sometimes, reading is a temporary escape from our life.
Do random act of kindness
4. Do even one act of kindness every day. These deeds may be a small or simple gesture of kindness, but do not underestimate the joy that it will bring to you and to those who will be touched by your kindness. Be it a compliment to a stranger or a heartfelt hello.

my place when I want some space
5. Create a place of retreat when you need a "time-out" to be alone with your thoughts. You don't need a big house to create a space for yourself. An armchair facing a window  where you can sit and sip quietly your coffee and to compose yourself can do.
I am a hobbyist
6. Be selective in your association. Friends have a big influence to our well being. Their influence can be manifested in how we think and on our behavior. If your friends are causing you unhappiness, they are not genuine friends. I prefer to be alone and happy than surrounded with friends that caused me unhappiness.
have a friends of few but true
7. Have a grateful heart. Be thankful, count your blessings, and notice simple pleasures. Gratitude brings more goodness and happiness in life. At the end of the day, we can thank our spouse for whatever they made on our behalf. And most of all, it brings a happiness without measure when we are grateful to the source of our life.
