More Than A Cymbal The Sincere Hospitality In Savarin Hotel

Many of the most beautiful stories in the history were told with heart and emotion. Stories of goodness, kindness, mercy towards humanity. I want to write today a heartwarming story, happened to my family, how it continues to linger despite it happened almost a month ago.

Savarin Hotel in The Hague

cold outside, heartwarming inside

From Louman Museum, on a cold afternoon, we traveled back home. As my husband drives and exit the busy historic streets in The Hague, our car started to wiggle. There is something wrong, my husband exits again the three of four lane expressway, we entered Rijswijk. You cannot park your car just anywhere in Netherlands. The penalty is too high. There are numbers for any emergency, and since we need to troubleshoot the car, my husband made some phone calls.

The ANWB will come to fix our car, we are hoping that it will not take much time. I'm quiet, starting to feel panic when my husband said that ANWB coming in an hour. My husband sensed it, he, we, do not like to sit in the car for an hour, watching the passers-by and speeding cars. “Let’s go, have a walk, and have coffee”, told my husband. Just a few steps, we entered the Savarin Hotel. The New Year celebration of the world is only a few days away, it’s expected that hotels are full and busy.

We sit in the small, almost cramped reception. My husband went to the reception desk to let them know our purpose. I took the cozy corner, by the window, overlooking the parking area, and a so petit bookshelf with travel and lifestyle magazines, good to kill time. My son nagging, “how long it takes, mama?”

Guest coming in, coming out. Even it’s warm inside, I still feel the very cold dry wind outside. One of the hotel staff brought a cup of coffee to my husband, black to please his delight, while my son has his cold creamed chocolate milk, mine is warm without “slagrom”. Warm drink and reading, one of the most relaxing combination.

Coming of guests is non-stop. One of the reception staff, cheerful, welcoming the guests with free glass of champagne. The scene is like holiday people in the Swiss mountains, checking in and ready to ski.

One couple went up in the lift, with a merry face, it was like in a blink, they came down with a face merrier.

It was then that one of the staff, set a tray on a round table before us, and called my son on the other side of the reception area, watching the car race on the big tv. “Did my husband asked for another drink?”, I asked. “No, no”! The staff said, “it’s for your son.”

She lay down on the round table the tray with a glass of hot milk with three small plates, our son can choose from the three: white chocolate, brown chocolate, or pure chocolate for his warm chocolate drink.

My husband left us to meet the troubleshooter who was already in our car. While I was still mixing  my son’s drink, my husband hurriedly back and said we can go home now!

I pick up my bag, wear my jacket, and grabbed my son who still engrossed watching the car race. I went to the reception, asking them if I need to pay the drink, looks so special to be taken for granted. They all smiling and said, “no”! I thank them for their warm hospitality even we’re not a check in guests. I was not able to document the kindness through photos because they also let me charged my phone on their desk with their charger while we’re waiting.

As we walked back to the car, I am glad I took a snap shot of just anything in front of the hotel, for me to keep, to remind me that once, this five star hotel gave us a very warm reception, that sincerity is like a cymbal to make them deserving of the said title. The memory remains poignant to me.

Philippine Holiday 2017: At Citystate Tower Hotel

When we are in Manila, we have two staying options, depends on room availability. Our first option is in Lotus Garden Hotel, the second is the City State Tower. Both are located in Mabini, places knows as the tourist belt in Manila. On our recent holiday, we stayed at City State Tower. We stayed there for a total of seven days. The hotel is good. The mini bar in the room is off, empty. They have nice rooms, but their towels, bed sheets, and linens are already very old. So far, I still enjoyed our stay there. The management, staff, and crew are friendly, polite, and accommodating. I as well enjoy their free buffet breakfast for all registered guests, an eat all you can buffet breakfast. Every morning, I am always looking forward their Filipino breakfast. On the ground floor, there is a bar-restaurant owned by a very famous Filipino folk singer, Freddie Aguilar. There are performers every night. I brought home some photos to share with my blog readers.

Appartelle De Francesca in Puerto Galera, The Hotel With A Footstep Swimming Pool

I was up at the third floor to make this aerial photo.

good times with my son.

this is the view in our doorstep.

Our cabin is just next to the swimming pool.

The Appartelle De Francesca

This past Philippine vacation, it was the first time that we stayed at White Beach, Puerto Galera. Before, we always stayed at Sabang Beach. A friend told my husband that White Beach is more family-friendlier than Sabang. My husband booked us ahead in Appartelle De Francesca. Our plan was just for three to four days, then we will move to Sabang. But we changed our minds. We stayed in Appartelle De Francesca for one week until we left Puerto Galera.
As I am writing this blog, I feel the sense of warmth in my heart as I remember our days in Appartelle De Francesca. The hotel is very clean, with a beautiful garden, flowers are there to make you feel home and so relax. During our stay there, I made many beautiful flower photos. The hotel has this unique shape swimming pool, foot-shape/footstep swimming pool with jacuzzi and fountains. It was a grand view in our cabin doorstep, the swimming pool. The management and staff are all accommodating. They always see to it that we are taken care of well. They are always ready to give assistance to us. When I told the owner to give us a fair discount and I love to write on my blog their hotel, my request was granted.
The Appartelle De Francesca has many rooms, I think more than 40 rooms available to guests. They also have conference halls. It was a real busy day at Appartelle De Francesca when we arrived because the Department Of Education held their two day event there. The hotel is about five minutes walk to the beach. A good place if you want a rest and peace, a distance from a noisy world of nightlife along the beach.
On our last night, I went up to the third floor, made photography of the footstep swimming pool. In the morning that we left, the owner gave us a free breakfast of their very delicious pancakes. The best pancakes in my entire lifetime! Please stay tuned because I will write separately on my blog about that pancake experience. I am looking forward to the day that me with my family will be back at the beautiful Appartelle De Francesca.

Nature At Its Best, Photos At Appartelle De Francesca

As what I have told on my blog, I still have many beautiful flower photos on my Canon camera that I also love to share. I am checking them now, and I found too these photos that I made in Puerto Galera. They are pleasing to my eyes and warm my heart as I remember those happy days. Really, it is still the simple things in this world that always captivate my attention. These photos were made by me just around the hotel where we stayed, the Appartelle De Francesca in White Beach. Next batch of photos are flowers.
