Appartelle De Francesca in Puerto Galera, The Hotel With A Footstep Swimming Pool

I was up at the third floor to make this aerial photo.

good times with my son.

this is the view in our doorstep.

Our cabin is just next to the swimming pool.

The Appartelle De Francesca

This past Philippine vacation, it was the first time that we stayed at White Beach, Puerto Galera. Before, we always stayed at Sabang Beach. A friend told my husband that White Beach is more family-friendlier than Sabang. My husband booked us ahead in Appartelle De Francesca. Our plan was just for three to four days, then we will move to Sabang. But we changed our minds. We stayed in Appartelle De Francesca for one week until we left Puerto Galera.
As I am writing this blog, I feel the sense of warmth in my heart as I remember our days in Appartelle De Francesca. The hotel is very clean, with a beautiful garden, flowers are there to make you feel home and so relax. During our stay there, I made many beautiful flower photos. The hotel has this unique shape swimming pool, foot-shape/footstep swimming pool with jacuzzi and fountains. It was a grand view in our cabin doorstep, the swimming pool. The management and staff are all accommodating. They always see to it that we are taken care of well. They are always ready to give assistance to us. When I told the owner to give us a fair discount and I love to write on my blog their hotel, my request was granted.
The Appartelle De Francesca has many rooms, I think more than 40 rooms available to guests. They also have conference halls. It was a real busy day at Appartelle De Francesca when we arrived because the Department Of Education held their two day event there. The hotel is about five minutes walk to the beach. A good place if you want a rest and peace, a distance from a noisy world of nightlife along the beach.
On our last night, I went up to the third floor, made photography of the footstep swimming pool. In the morning that we left, the owner gave us a free breakfast of their very delicious pancakes. The best pancakes in my entire lifetime! Please stay tuned because I will write separately on my blog about that pancake experience. I am looking forward to the day that me with my family will be back at the beautiful Appartelle De Francesca.

Taking To The Netherlands My Braided Hair From Puerto Galera

before
When we went and stayed in Puerto Galera, there was a woman who approached us, she offered to braid my hair. There are many women on the beaches in Puerto Galera who offered to braid your hair, or for a massage. The price of braiding depends on the braid style. The style that I like cost 800 pesos, but since I was the first customer, the woman lowered it to 600 pesos.
We went back to the Netherlands, still with my braid. I keep my braid for two weeks long. I told my husband that I like the waves to become permanent. I planned to go to the hairdresser,  but the cost is for me is expensive. I just bought the formula for permanent curls. My husband applied to my hair the formula. I thought it was that easy. But no! It took me about two hours to disentangle those 28 small braids! But it was worth it! I have now a new hairstyle: the hair like that of Monalisa :)

Philippine Holiday 2017: Grilled Squid Concluded My Puerto Galera Days

Grilled pusit, my choice for our last dinner in Puerto Galera.
Where we stayed.
How time flies, it is only four days left and we are flying back home, back to my Dutch home. Today is our last day in Puerto Galera. Tomorrow morning, we will travel back in Manila and we will wait the day of our flight there.
I enjoyed so much the last day of our stay in White Beach. I have some fond memories and special things that I love to keep or to add in my jar of happy memories. The resort where we are staying is highly recommended, I will write a special blog in behalf of them once we are back home. Also here in White Beach, I have tasted the most delicious pancakes in my life! I will also write a blog about this pancake, with a mouth-watering photos. I spent my morning in the beach with my son. My husband just enjoying his coffee while he was watching us. In the afternoon, we enjoyed swimming at the pool just in our doorstep. I love the sunburn at my back, I am proud of the mark. To conclude our stay in White Beach, I have grilled pusit (squid) for my dinner. We have a nice dinner at the beach with a family, our family friend that also came from the Netherlands.
I have some photos today that I love to share again. Before I end up this blog, I want to share an important family tip. In family life, a holiday or a vacation is I have learned is also an important factor to strengthen the family bond. It does not matter whether it is a grand vacation or a budget vacation. What is important is that you, as a family spend a time to be with each other.

Philippine Holiday 2017: A Sunset Poem By A Sunset Seeker, Puerto Galera

The sunset photo is I made this afternoon at White Beach, Puerto Galera

Chasing Sunset
There is something with sunset,
That is hard to tell.
The mystery, the beauty,
As well as the dramatic scene,
Makes the sunset a subject
In all forms of arts.
Sunset by the bay,
Sunset from the mountain,
Anywhere I go, I look to the horizon
The glow of the sun setting.
Looking at the sunset,
I am grateful for another day.
Watching the sunset,
I am praying and hoping for
The best that what tomorrow will bring.

Philippine Holiday 2017: One Fine Day In White Beach

Since the day that we arrived in Puerto Galera, it is only today that we enjoy the sunshine and enjoyed swimming in the beach. It was always cloudy, raining, and windy. We are glad that in the hotel where we are staying, we have a clean swimming pool by our doorstep, where we can swim regardless of the weather. We took the chance to go to the beach early, have our breakfast there, and swim the entire morning. Even there are many people who are coming to visit White Beach or for a holiday, and even there is a small port where bancas (boats) transport passengers, White Beach preserve its clean water. Me with my family, enjoyed our time there. There are also some water sports that you can enjoy at White Beach, like a ride at the banana boat, dragon boat, fly fish, jet ski, and a parachute. I love watching my son enjoying in the sea. He swim like a real swimmer now using an arm band. He don't mind the big waves, when he goes further and further, my husband has no choice but to change to his swimming trunk and swim with our son. This is not yet a peak season at White Beach. I hope tomorrow it is sunny again, I love to go back swimming at the beach. For now, I am satisfied with my sunburn. Me, my husband, as well as our son are now all sun-kissed.

Philippine Holiday 2017: A Disappointing Return To Sabang Beach

Overlooking the floating bar

This alley is full both of tourists and girls at night.
Sabang Beach, Puerto Galera. My husband rented an ATV for us with our son to visit Sabang today. I am writing this and I am thinking for a nice or a good introduction to this blog. You know it, when you are full of disappointments, it is like you are lost for words. I remember the first day that I saw Sabang, I fell in love right away to this place. In fact, I hold dear those precious memories of this place in my heart, a part of the early years of marriage life. Two of our friends who are also here for a vacation told us that Sabang is not a good place anymore to stay. It is now filthy, populated, and a Danish friend told us that Sabang is now a disgusting place because of the rampant prostitution, in private or in public.

We parked the ATV at the back of the small town market. We walked going to the alley that leads to some of our 'once our favorite hangouts.' The discos and bars are still close, we passed them by to go to our favorite coffee shop, the Rocks Cafe, just across the Hammerhead Disco. The cafe is now closed. We walked further, but the foul-smelling alley smeared totally my hopes to enjoy our visit, I saw it myself that Sabang is now disgustingly dirty, I did not even finish sipping my mango shake, I told my husband that I like to go home. At the parking, I vomit.

I am glad we decided to stay in White Beach. Our son is enjoying everything here, especially the clean swimming pool. Sabang is still a recommended place for a great diving experience, but aside from that, Sabang has nothing to offer... Except bars, nightlife, and according to what I read from a Trip Advisor's contributor, a place for a cheap prostitution. It saddened me because I, myself too is a Filipina, by heart and by blood.
